Welcome to Downtown Spokane – the heart of The Lilac City’s industry and culture. Here, you’ll find one-of-a-kind shops, innovative restaurants nestled amid office buildings on tree-lined streets, so you’ll never feel overwhelmed by big-city hustle and bustle. Don’t miss taking a stroll through the 100 acre Riverfront Park, which hosted the World’s Fair in 1974, or seeing the beautiful Spokane River flowing through the center of our city.
For sports enthusiasts, we have the One Spokane Stadium, which hosts our very own professional soccer team, the Spokane Velocity, and The Podium – both indoor multi-use sports facilities. If you want to get a little exercise for yourself, jump on to the Centennial Trail, a 37-mile paved recreational trail for pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles. The Centennial Trail runs from the Idaho border to Nine Mile Falls, Washington. The trail can be accessed from Riverfront Park.
If entertainment is more your style, downtown Spokane offers many different entertainment venues, including the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena, the Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox, the Bing Crosby Theater, the First Interstate Center for the Arts (formerly the Spokane Opera House), the Knitting Factory and the Spokane Comedy Club. Looking for a little culture for yourself or your little ones? The Mobius Discovery Center or the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture are great places to start!
